(2) Under the City of Chicago Building Code a room that has no window and is not able to transfer light and ventilation from an immediately adjacent windowed room is defined as a multipurpose room. These rooms may be used as "a study, office, multimedia room or other function normally associated with family dwelling occupancy" but cannot be used as bedrooms.
